Pep Guardiola ha assegurat en una entrevista al Daily Mirror
que va arribar a témer ser empresonat per culpa de les seves idees
polítiques. L’actual entrenador del Manchester City ha explicat que si “Jordi Sànchez i Jordi Cuixart són a la presó, jo també hi podria ser”.
“El que m’enutja és que aquestes persones són a la presó des de fa un any acusats d’una cosa que no van fer”,
segueix valorant el tècnic de Santpedor, que ha explicat el motiu pel
qual porta el llaç groc: “No eren polítics i ni tan sols van expressar
la seva opinió”.
Després de ser sancionat per la federació de futbol anglesa per portar el llaç durant el partit, Guardiola ha anunciat que “ho accepto, però puc portar-lo durant les conferències i és per això que el porto ara”. “Sempre el porto, a no ser que me l’oblidi o me’l deixi a la butxaca”, sentencia el tècnic català.

The Manchester City boss has worn a yellow ribbon for over a year in support of the activists who were imprisoned following the vote.
Guardiola was charged by the Football Association last season and now only wears the ribbon at press conferences.
And he said: “I’m not allowed to wear it in games, I know that.
“What disappoints me is that these people are still in prison a year later and they were accused of something they didn't do.

There are people who have been wrongly imprisoned for more than a year.“They’re not politicians, they just expressed their opinions. That’s why I support them with the ribbon.
“The
FA then punished me for wearing it and I accept that, but I can wear it
in press conferences and that’s why I’m wearing it now.
“I’d also like you to support me if I’m jailed unfairly too. I always wear it, unless I forget it or leave it in my pocket.”
Guardiola will lead his side out against rivals Manchester United in this afternoon's derby.
City have thrashed Southampton
and Shakhtar Donetsk 6-1 and 6-0 respectively in the past week but
Guardiola is expecting something much different as the Premier League
leaders face improving United at the Etihad Stadium.

"When they have the ball and the people in front - wow - they can create something.

have an incredible amount of talent up front and in the middle as well.
That is why we have to defend deep and strong, defend the crosses and
avoid set-pieces as they are huge and far better than us.
"We have to control more for as many minutes as possible and be clinical. That's the game we'll try to do.
"What we have to do is try to play good. If we don't we have no chance to win."

Ha tardat onze jornades a poder-ho fer, però el Manchester City ja pot presumir de tornar a regnar a Anglaterra. Després de l’empat del Liverpool al camp de l’Arsenal (1-1) i la contundent victòria que aquest diumenge els de Pep Guardiola han endossat al Southampton (6-1), els citizens s’adjudiquen el liderat en solitari de la Premier League
per primer cop aquesta temporada. La preponderància del tècnic català a
la competició de la regularitat anglesa segueix essent incontestable.
El
City tenia clar que havia d’aprofitar l’ensopegada del Liverpool i no
s’ha posat gens nerviós. Els futbolistes de Pep Guardiola ja havien
celebrat tres gols quan només s’havia disputat un quart d’hora de joc
(els de WesleyHoedt en pròpia porteria, Agüero i David Silva).
Com una piconadora, els locals no han tingut pietat del Southampton i
han acabat completant un set de gols gràcies als encerts d’Sterling (2) i Sané. Danny Ings, de penal, s’ha apuntat una diana intranscendent.
Després
dels primers onze partits del curs, el tècnic de Santpedor segueix
demostrant que el seu equip no té rival a Anglaterra. Els citizens
han aconseguit nou victòries i només han lamentat dos empats durant uns
primers mesos de competició en què han marcat 33 gols i només n’han
encaixat quatre. Amb la feina feta en la competició nacional, el City
rebrà el Xakhtar Donetsk el pròxim dimecres amb l’objectiu d’encarrilar també el bitllet per als vuitens de final de la Champions League.
